We are doing this list because Batman has been considered by many to have the most unique and recognizable villains in all of comics.

#5. Penguin
Penguin is a rotund man known for his love of birds and his specialized high-tech umbrellas. He is the face of Gotham’s criminal underworld and one of Batman’s oldest, and most persistent archenemies. The Penguin is a mobster with no superpowers, but somewhat of a knowledgeable scientist who fancies dangerous gadgets. He is a nightclub owner which often provides cover for his lowkey criminal activities. His business has often been tolerated by Batman because of the criminal underworld information it provides. Unlike most of Batman’s foes, he is not insane and is in complete control of his actions, giving him a unique relationship with the Dark Night.
#4. Scarecrow
The Scarecrow is an insane psychologist/biochemist and a self-proclaimed master of fear. He lost his job for his methods and uses a variety of experimental toxins to exploit the phobias of his victims which includes Batman. Scarecrow is one of the most enduring enemies of the Dark Knights and belongs to the top five Batman villains.

The Riddler easily makes the list of the top Batman villains because of the mental abuses Batman suffered. This criminal mastermind takes delight in incorporating riddles and puzzles into his schemes, before leaving them as clues for the authorities to solve. He has no special powers except a super-fast brain and being able to devise deadly puzzles at will.

Bane is one of the first villains that Batman faced during his vigilante days. The Bane has the same will as Batman, but a childhood spent in one of the toughest prisons molded him into a hardened killer. This masked villain’s immense strength comes from his Venom. His power and intelligence make him one of Batman’s most feared adversaries, and he once succeeded in breaking Batman’s back. Bane has been a thorn on Batman’s side and succeeded in taking over Gotham.

We feel like the mob would start pounding our doors if The Joker is missing from this list. Regardless of the fear of getting torn to bits by the mobs, we list The Joker because of his extreme mindset and how he has become Batman’s greatest enemy.
The Joker’s clownish appearance and big smile hide a devious mind bent on creating as much trouble as possible for his archenemy, Batman. His arsenal of weapons includes razor-cards, acid-spewing flowers, and laughing-gas. He is Batman’s greatest enemy as well as the most famous and recurring villain.
