Series of earthquakes, the largest being a 4.2 magnitude, felt throughout Oklahoma City metro

Several people in Oklahoma City have reached out to KOCO 5 to report a series of earthquakes that occurred on Friday night.

The most significant earthquake had a magnitude of 4.2, while the U.S. Geological Survey recorded a 3.3-magnitude quake near Arcadia around 9:37 p.m. Another 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred nearly 4 miles west of Arcadia less than 10 minutes later.

Other quakes followed, including a 2.7-magnitude quake around Arcadia at 9:53 p.m. and several more recorded shortly after 10 p.m. near Arcadia, with magnitudes of 2.0, 2.6, 2.4, and 2.5, respectively.

The reports from the community to KOCO 5 support the widespread impact felt by residents during these events.
