The title of Grande’s latest project, “Eternal Sunshine,” is a nod to the beloved 2004 film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” directed by Michel Gondry and written by Charlie Kaufman. The film starred Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet, and it appears that Grande’s admiration for Carrey played a role in the album’s title. Notably, Grande and Carrey shared the screen in the second season of Showtime’s “Kidding,” where Gondry served as an executive producer and directed several episodes.
